Nicholas Ghesquière spent a 12-year term creating some of the most influential designs at Balenciaga. Prior to inheriting the creative director position, he had worked for the Jean Paul Gaultier label in his early twenties. At only 22-years old he took over the helm of the dying Balenciaga brand, surpassing Helmut Lang as a potential candidate for the position. In Ghesquière’s first collection (SS1998), he captured a balance between the minimalism of the late 90s and the eclectic taste of couture fashion. A monochromatic color palette was brought to life by the use of new and intriguing shapes made of advanced jersey materials and technical synthetic fibers. These dramatic lines that Ghesquière drew have set precedence to future design under the Balenciaga name.

These black leather ankle boots feature a spiraling asymmetrical zipper that runs from the side to the top of the shoe. A lug sole with balenciaga branding are secured to the bottom.

Marked size 44, Fit a TTS 11.

Condition: 7/10. Wear on the soles and leather upper.
