Chrome Hearts Polarized Maltese Cross Shielded Sunglasses
Chrome Hearts is a garage startup founded in Los Angeles by Richard Stark (luxury leather dealer) and John Bowman (designer of leather garments). A pivotal addition of a third member, Leonard Kamhout, allowed the team to create skillfully crafted custom silver hardware for the leather jackets and accessories that they built. The mission of the three bikers was to deliver leather and silver products to a marketplace that couldn’t be found at the time. The primary source of exposure for the label came from the endorsements of rock bands such as The Sex Pistols, Guns and Roses, and Mötley Crüe. The lead guitarist of The Sex Pistols, Steve Jones, went the extra mile in being a strong reference in a styling job for the 1989 horror comedy called “Chopper Chicks in Zombietown.” The three designers took on the job and robbed the movie of one of its potential titles. “Chrome Hearts” was the name chosen to encapsulate their world of gothic design elements and glossy black leather finishes.
These black and chrome shielded sunglasses feature polarized tinted lenses as well as maltese and plus crosses on the sides of the frames. They are included with a full leather zippered case, that features an embossed scroll logo on the front and a dagger charm as the zipper pull.
