Final Home 1990’s Zippered Survival Parka

Founded in 1994 by Kosuke Tsumura, Japanese label Final Home asks the question: In the event of the apocalypse, what if the clothes on your back were the clothes you may die in. Terrifying as it may be, this concept has resulted in the creation of clothing centered around survival, and utmost functionality in the form of pockets, zippers, ideas, and art. Representing Final Home most succinctly is one of its first, and most famous garments, the “survival jacket”, which was created with an astonishing 44 pockets all of which are hidden throughout its many zippers. While it's doubtful any have used this jacket for its intended purpose of survival it remains an example of how clothing can be adapted according to need, even if that need is apocalypse.

This black nylon parka features YKK zips that run from top to bottom and reveal 10 front pockets and 6 back pockets with an additional pocket in the hood.

Only 1000 units of the parka were produced with only 500 of them being in this black color way. This coat is in good overall condition aside from a fabric flaw on the back shoulder and hood.
