Guidi 792 Black Horse Leather Derby

$500.00

The Guidi name has survived for decades as a respected leather tannery based out of a small farm town in Tuscany, Italy. Their craft has been appreciated by the likes of Maison Margiela and Prada for use in past collections, and is cherished by the growing avant-guard fashion community. This business of niche leather goods is still heavily consolidated by the Guidi family which is currently headed by a man named Ruggero Guidi (Mr. Guidi). Ruggero is passionate about the process of shoe making and has a history of collecting old pairs of footwear as a science experiment of sorts. He would study the different aspects of the shoes and admire the processes that it took to create them. Mr. Guidi’s genuine appreciation for leather goods and long-lasting footwear can be seen across their entire line of products.

This is a pair of Guidi 792 derbies made from a black polished horse leather and laced with dyed cotton shoe strings. The bottoms have been recently secured with a vibrim outsole in the effort to extend the lifecycle of the shoes.
