Helmut Lang SS2004 Overdye Classic Denim Jacket
Helmut Lang SS2004 Overdye Classic Denim Jacket
Helmut Lang compromised a significant portion of the attention drawn to the fashion scene in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s. The minimalism in his jeans line was attractive to the industry that was so heavily eccentric at the time. Mr. Lang designed for the end wearer. It is no surprised that he tried his hand replicating a variety of classic workwear garments. Twenty years later, his craftsmanship has proved to stand the test of time.
This Classic Denim Jacket is differentiated from other Lang denim sets due to the full deep blue dye that saturates the original white fabric. The Jacket is copied from a classic Levis 557 Denim Trucker Jacket with a similar 2-pocket setup and noticeably shortened cuffs on the sleeves. Traditional denim jacket paneling is used however, the back panels are not diagonal in shape, but rather parallel to either side of the outwear garment. The seams are straight from top to bottom which results in a boxier than normal fit.
