Hysteric Glamour Reconstructed Hagi Jeans

The perception of American culture by young Japanese creatives, has never failed to impress and intrigue early adopters in the fashion community. Nobuhiko Kitamura’s list of influences strays away from the classic “Americana” bundle of Red Wing boots and Levis 501s. Alternatively, much of his childhood memories consist of comics books, punk rock, and pornography. Bright colors, 60’s iconography, and insubordinate memo’s make up much of Hysteric Glamour’s body of work and are a direct output of Kiytamura’s desire to create his own “American” subculture within the bounds of Tokyo, Japan.

This pair of flared jeans features layers of overlapping black denim with unfinished edges. The fraying of each denim strip creates a deteriorating effect that resembles the bandages that wrapped the dead in ancient Egypt; thus giving these pants the unofficial title: “mummy jeans.”

Marked size M (please refer to measurements):

Waist: 28.5in

Inseam: 29.5in

Rise: 10in

Leg Opening: 8in

Condition: 7/10. Repairs at the crotch.
