Issey Miyake AW2004 Rebuilt Paneled Knit Sweater
Issey Miyake AW2004 Rebuilt Paneled Knit Sweater
Issey Miyake was introduced to the world of design at a young age. Having grown up in Hiroshima, which had recently been under a nuclear attack, he found inspiration in the old and the new. Two bridges in particular (now named “to create and to go”) made him feel emotion more than any other architectural body in the city. He felt a sense of hope when standing on the seemingly indestructible platforms. Issey has always looked toward the future in creating advanced synthetic fabrics and garments limited to one piece of cloth. He studied the human body and how it moves like an engineer would study the earth in which a structure in built upon.
This earth-toned wool sweater features subdued multicolor panels that are constructed into horizontal stripes. This knitwear piece is completed with an unfinished collar, sleeves, and body-opening.
Marked size 2 (please refer to measurements):
Shoulder: 19.5in
Chest: 21in
Length: 25.5in
Sleeve: 25.5in
