Jean Paul Gaultier is a master of presenting high-class garments in a provocative way. Whether he is utilizing bright prints or unconventional shapes, he aims to attract and seduce the viewer with the manipulation of fabric. He often references his home city of Paris and the various forms of media that he grew up on. These references are paired with his motive to close the gap between menswear and womenswear collections and present androgyny in a contemporary way.

This formal jacket has all of the characteristics of a classic Gaultier piece. The elegance of the contour is balanced with a utilitarian twist. This garment heavily references 70’s french military attire, but is remastered in a shimmering grey nylon that changes colors depending on the light that the garment is given.

This Green / Grey Formal Jacket is composed of an iridescent nylon with a printed cotton liner and elegant bronze hongkong seams. The bottom-most flap of the inner-liner is hand-stitched to the fabric to hide the appearance of stitches on the outer layer. Several zippered pockets are huddled on the front of the jacket with an addition of velcro-flap pockets for a balanced aesthetic appeal. A standard lapel is used on this blazer that passes by two shoulder pads on the way up to the collar. A three-button closure is used to fasten the jacket to the wearer.
