Jean Paul Gaultier AW1992 Roman Faces Printed Denim Trucker Jacket
Throughout the 1990’s Jean Paul Gaultier sampled a great deal with colleges of faces, presenting them on canvases using one or two distinctive tonal colors. Groupings of random crowds, politicians, celebrity’s, and in this case, roman statues, have been used by the designer to capture a particular emotion of a time on history. No two pieces of this sku are exactly the same, with faces located at different places of the garment canvas, from one unit to the next.
This jacket features the all-over roman faces print on the cotton fabric, with several patches displaying Roman numerals in the consistent coloration of the ensemble. The buttons that cover the front closure and sleeves of the jacket are crafted to resemble shields, as to go along with the Roman theme. The jacket is intended to be cropped. It remains in pristine condition with very light fading in the fabric.
