Raf Simons SS2002 “Independence” Patched Crewneck Sweatshirt
Raf Simons SS2002 “Independence” Patched Crewneck Sweatshirt
The period following the tragic events of 9/11 created a resurgence of more aggressive foreign policies to address the threat of terrorism, among a wave of worldwide silence and fear. The collection, “Woe Onto Those Who Spit on the Fear Generation... The Wind Will Blow It Back,” shows Raf Simons and graphic artist, Peter De Potter, presenting some of their most unembellished work to date. Themes of rage and unrest imbued the venue, balanced by models fearlessly walking bare-foot on the concrete floors, wearing symbolic poetry, and holding bright torches.
This raglan crewneck sweatshirt features fourteen different patches that represent a more positive interpretation of George Orwell’s definition of the word, “Doublehink.” He believed that two conflicting ideas could exist at once, in the same mind. One common example of Doublethink is: A person believes they will succeed, yet also they will learn from their mistakes. All tags have been removed by the previous owner but the crewneck itself is still in impeccable condition. The only flaws are a few small discolored spots from age, and an overall feeling of wear.
Size Unmarked, Fits a size M (please refer to measurements):
Shoulder: Raglan
Pit: 56cm
Fr. Length: 68cm
Sleeve from Pit: 55cm
Condition: 7.5/10
