Undercover AW1999-2000 ‘Ambivalence’ Mohair Sweater

Undercover’s Jun Takahashi is one of fashions most sophisticated and versatile designers. Often cited as the epitome of “Japanese cool”, Takahashi infuses his brand with a unique sense of American street style, elegant grunge, and references ranging from Kubrick to taxidermy. Undercover’s Spring Summer 2007 “Purple” collection stands as a testament to his versatility as Takahashi set out to design “something beautiful for girls - without any dark side”. Throwing away his usual hooded faces and tattered shirts, s/s 07 presents us with a chic and sexy ensemble, clad with ruffled georgette dresses, sheer panels, and fringed tunics. Keeping with his signature edge, included also are dog collars and cover-ups smothered in skull shaped satin whirls adding a playful element to a collection which embodies Parisian finesse.

This grey wool knit sweater features three multicolored mohair rectangles on the front of the garment in representation of a classic Mark Rothko painting.
