Undercover AW2004 “But Beautiful” 52 Denim Jeans
Anne-Valerie Dupond is a soft-sculptor based out of France. Her work ranges from baroque head pieces to hunting trophies. While a typical stone sculpting is historically a male craft, Anne aims to warp the stereotypes and male dominance in the industry using humor. She mocks the stigma by using a needle and thread to craft a pieces otherwise achieved by a chisel and a hammer. Collaborating with the Japanese based fashion-brand Undercover, deemed to be a project that was long overdue. Jun Takahashi and Anne-Valerie joined forces to create garments with a playful, inanimate appearance. These stone-wash jeans feature an array of white patches on the back pockets with heavy distressing on the front of the pants. The signature iconic lightning bolt is stitched into the left knee.
